About us!

Gay Finkelman has a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She spent 20 years in Commercial and Industrial Real Estate, traveled extensively and served as Regional Advisor for the Los Angeles-based Society of Children's Bookwriters and Illustrators.

In 1993 she moved to Lakeland, Florida where she started Genie Publishing. Genie's specialty is publishing people's life stories and the business grew by word of mouth. Some clients write their entire manuscripts themselves, while some have retained Genie to tape their stories, write them and publish them.

Gay is a Certified Lifestory Instructor and a sought-after speaker on lifestory writing.

Genie Publishing is an affialite of Soleil Lifestory Network, a member of Florida Publishers Association, the Associations of Personal Historians, National Association of Women Business Owners, and the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce and many other organizations and associations.
