DEPARTING

We never know, the time we part
The tragedy that may await;
But from the day we had our start,
We've been controlled by fickle fate.

So parting meant for just a while,
May be the final time you meet;
The brief good-bye and farewell smile,
May be your lover's lasting treat.

So live each day as if the last,
Forget not wrongs you may correct;
For life and love go by so fast,
Remember, neither one neglect.
