CAPRICIOUS TIME

It used to be that time went slow,
With four and twenty every day;
It was not very long ago,
Yet someone took some time away.

Each hour seems to rush right by,
No longer does it keep its pace;
Not only do the hours fly,
But days and weeks don't leave a trace.

It takes much longer to get done,
The ticking clock won't wait for me;
Too soon I meet the setting sun,
I know it should much later be.

In school time never went so fast,
The teacher droned on endlessly;
The hour seemed to last and last,
>From boredom I was never free.

I guess I must go see a shrink,
It's in my mind, it has to be;
For madness trembles on the brink,
A shrink might find a remedy.
