A WIDOW'S LAMENT

Why did he leave me such a mess?
I don't know where I should begin.
He took with him my happiness,
And now my head begins to spin.

He never taught me our affairs,
With business dealings I can't cope;
I'm left with oh so many cares,
Alone I can't see any hope.

No needed records can I find,
His files are such a mystery;
Why did he leave me in a bind?
I'm mad at what he did to me.

But oh, Dear Lord, please treat him well,
His love did bring me happiness;
My anger I find hard to quell,
Confused in all my loneliness.
