FADING HOPES AND DREAMS

To many goals does man aspire,
Of dreams he never seems to tire;
But since he will not oft perspire,
His hopes and dreams will fade away.

He ever searches for romance,
On lotteries he takes a chance;
He would forever play and dance,
His hopes and dreams will fade away.

He's always looking for a thrill,
In poker he would make a "kill",
His promise he will never fill,
His hopes and dreams will fade away.

His world is always "might have been",
He's sure his ship will soon come in,
A fool who can not ever win,
His hopes and dreams will fade away.

But man is vain and will insist
That by Dame Fortune he'll be kissed;
In lazy mind this will exist,
But hopes and dreams will fade away.
