A COMMON GROUND

A COMMON GROUND

Machines replacing man at toil,
Computers would man's brain replace;
Genetics soon will nature foil,
But from all this we've lost much grace.

There is much more irreverence,
Traditions too have lost respect;
Transition pressure so intense,
On ethics we can't oft reflect.

Somewhere there should be common ground,
Where new and old can meet in peace;
Where rules of conduct can be found,
And so much tension thus release.

We should take time to contemplate,
What we are teaching children now;
They will examples imitate,
To common sense we ought to bow.
