"SLICK WILLIE"

No matter what Bill Clinton does
His enemies are all abuzz;
They can't forgive the fact he won,
No matter what he's truly done.

Abortion foes in shrill array
Have vitriolic words to spray;
Republicans from far and wide
Have constantly nipped at his hide.

Insidious is their approach,
Although on reason they encroach;
Both Gore and Clinton do they taunt,
It's but his office that they want.

On programs that have wide appeal,
Such nit picking do they reveal;
With innuendos do they fight,
With murky statements block our light.

The dormant issues he has raised,
For that alone he should be praised;
Detractors still will only say,
Don't let "Slick Willie" have his way.

Perforce they grudgingly concede
His message would to progress lead;
But sneakily in self same breath
They try to talk ideas to death.

As patriots they wave the flag,
Of good intentions do they brag;
But listen well to what they say,
For only slogans will they bray.

He is our only president,
Let's concentrate on his intent;
Let's work together as a team,
Perhaps we can achieve a dream.
