THE DESIRE FOR EQUITY
Have human values all been lost,
Is progress now our only goal?
Have we so surely weighed the cost,
What harm it's done to human soul?
Amusement rules the mind of man,
With self indulgence now the rule?
Belief there is but mortal span
Makes Good Samaritan a fool.
So hedonistic is our life,
We're wrapped within our own cocoon;
So unconcerned by foreign strife,
It might as well be on the moon.
One day this bubble has to burst,
For selfishness will lead to war;
The ones whose lives we've made the worst
Will kill so they can have much more.
This cycle will again repeat
Until mankind has kindness learned;
Of equity we all still bleat,
Specific measures we have spurned.
