IN WORLD AFFAIRS
With world affairs beyond our scope,
There's much we can not understand;
With news and comments we can't cope,
Confusion reigns on every hand.
And yet opinions we express,
Not founded on a proven fact;
We should not weighty themes address,
Unless we can some truth extract.
Our demagogues play on our fear,
To make their own agenda fly;
Such pithy phrases commandeer,
To pull the wool over the eye.
Be wary of the man who's sure,
When questions raised are seen as moot;
Make certain motivation's pure,
For facts they well may convolute.
