A WRITER'S LIFE

A WRITER'S LIFE
An empty page, but pen won't write,
A barren mind, no words will flow;
My frightened brain has taken flight,
The empty page became a foe.
Rebelling at the very thought,
Of black out problems in my life;
The learning I had always sought,
Seems lost in some internal strife.
Ideas take form, then dissipate,
As mem'ry flickers off and on;
My head now seen as useless freight,
All mental processes are gone.
I can't believe that this is me,
Where is that brilliant, cogent mind?
What futile future will there be,
Have I to such a fate resigned?
