WHERE LIES HAPPINESS
A hovel may a castle be,
When happiness and love there reign;
Contentment there for all to see,
While wealth may search for it in vain.
No one would seek out penury,
Distinction it does not convey;
But if a choice was given free,
For more contentment I would pray.
So few in life find true content,
Complaints must fill our Heaven's ear;
Yet thanks are much too seldom sent,
While many wish for more I fear.
