EQUALITY

EQUALITY

All men are created equal,
Is but a bald faced, brazen lie;
And even in things called legal,
We see it does the truth defy.

Man's wealth, or rank, or circumstance,
Will give each one unequal chance;
Thus justice oft a travesty,
When guilty people go scot free.

In every phase of life we see,
There's so much inequality;
So while we parrot that old phrase,
The legal diff'rence will amaze.

Man's race or origin will cloud,
Opinions of a biased crowd;
Though many people we can blame,
It taints the lot of us with shame.
