STAGNANT MINDS
Do we new friends just meet by chance,
Or are we led by force unknown?
So oft they do our lives enhance,
For new ideas these friends will own.
Our minds complaisant and so smug,
Our knowledge seems to be enough;
Then suddenly a smile and hug,
Inflated egos find life rough.
There's always so much more to learn,
Too oft we think we know it all:
So many pages yet to turn,
So many vistas to enthrall.
