TRANSITIONS
We see the happy, smiling face,
The eager, driving need to learn;
A love for all the human race,
At college now they'll take their turn.
>From senior's glory, lowly frosh,
Another phase of life to live;
All prior learning now is bosh,
New wisdom teachers try to give.
These cycles will go up and up,
An ever changing world they'll see;
As they drink deeply from life's cup,
They soon will find maturity.

A man is left with dying thought,
A long and checkered life behind;
Now ready for the peace he sought,
So to his end he is resigned.
Some happy mem'ries and regret,
A life of many hills and dales;
To many others owes a debt,
A search for many human grails.
But now outliving friends and kin,
This lonely vigil contemplates;
To many funerals he's been,
So now the last, then Pearly Gates.
