WHERE THERE IS NOT A WILL
A will is such a funny thing,
To some a fear it oft will bring;
We put it off, and off, and off,
And at its need some often scoff.
To wife who hesitates to sign,
I merely do some facts define;
A new wife may determine heir,
In ways she would not think is fair.
And those that leave us intestate,
Will find decisions made by State;
Her children this may not protect,
A problem caused by her neglect.
The details often bog us down,
In indecision do we drown;
Now who deserves this lovely piece,
How can I ever rest in peace?
Such problems do us all annoy,
Such thoughts we never do enjoy;
And so decisions are delayed,
We'll never know the price we paid.
