EVER PRESENT TEMPTATION

Temptation lurks in every smile,
Some "bedroom" eyes will oft beguile;
For victims does the devil wait,
But luckily most hesitate.

A sense of honor may deter,
So men won't hear the siren purr;
And others do but quell desire,
They fear to try unholy fire.

There's some who don't, and some who do,
Strong guilt may then the devil brew;
The first time one succumbs to charm,
The conscience it will always harm.

The siren never counts the cost,
Afraid allure she may have lost;
And afterward will feel a glow,
A victory of sorts will know.

At times it works the other way,
Male ego may demand he play;
All women will he try seduce,
And problems do such men produce.

A widow is oft deemed fair game,
Divorcees too ignite a flame;
Man's vanity is oft the urge,
Still many do temptation purge.

Each person does decisions make,
Careers and marriages may break;
But oft we don't take good advice,
Temptation will exact its price.
