SUPERSTITION

Old superstitions still exist,
Although adherents will deny;
Friday the thirteenth some insist,
Is not a good date to defy.

Some cross the street to miss black cats,
While many fear an "evil eye";
Such fears do not appear in stats,
So we but wonder who and why.

No land has a monopoly,
Though fears will vary land to land;
With none of us completely free,
Yet none of us can understand.
