More books I keep acquiring,
Though reading's not an easy thing;
It's concentration I have lost,
Some mental line I must have crossed.

I look at all my unread books,
They are my most unhappy looks;
There's so much there I crave to read,
But apathy my age does breed.

Tomorrow I will surely start,
But yet today will not depart;
Inviting books I now ignore,
A situation I deplore.
