SO SELFISH

SO SELFISH
Just for themselves some people live,
Unmindful of another's needs;
Their selfish souls have naught to give,
Insensitivity this breeds.
To their own whims they will comply,
So vain and petty are pursuits;
While all around them neighbors die,
They show the sympathy of brutes.
But should they ever need some help,
Expect the world to help supply;
If no attention they will yelp,
If not forthcoming, wonder why.
