GALLANT SOULS

Some cling to life against all odds,
Denying doctor's verdict grim;
They are defying even gods,
As they attack each day with vim.

Still cheerful to the Nth degree,
Oblivious to ache and pain;
Of all unhappiness they're free,
Each day they only count as gain.

We must salute such gallant souls,
They do delay their dying day;
On more of life they set their goals,
Not ready yet to go away.
