ARMAGEDDON
One day our Earth will surely die,
Its teeming life will disappear,
We don't know when, we don't know why,
So many accidents to fear.
An asteroid may hit our Earth,
Or might in fact destroy our sun;
Mutated microbes may give birth,
No shelter man can find to run.
Interdependent are we all,
We do not grasp this basic fact;
Together rise, together fall,
But that is not the way we act.
Without sun's warmth will come the cold,
So frigid will be arctic blast;
All plants will die before they're old,
Each species dies with man the last.
The Earth a silent frozen ball,
Civilization will soon crumble;
Our history none will recall,
Volcanoes will not ever grumble.
Will God give man another chance
To show what chastened man can do?
Can mankind's brotherhood advance,
Can men and women start anew?
Our health and happiness at risk,
A second may disaster bring;
As scheduled on God's software disk,
Our future may contain some sting.
