THE CALORIC BATTLE

"We will not eat too much today",
That's what those lovely ladies say,
But when the luscious trays appear,
Their calories just disappear.

"I can not eat another thing".
Has quite an old familiar ring,
But with dessert now on its way,
The taste buds say it's A OK.

Next week they'll diet to be sure.
We fear one week won't prove a cure.
And so it goes the whole year through.
Thus there'll be more of them in view.
