OUR HUMBLE INDEPENDENT STARR
His witch hunt had but drawn a blank,
No crime committed at the bank;
This moneyed search went on and on,
With soon the public's patience gone.
But Bill was known to womanize,
This should be shown to all our eyes;
Well financed by his enemies,
Like sharks drawn to their blood frenzies.
They questioned women everywhere.
Who cared procedures were unfair?
Each morsel fed their great delight,
In words that painted every sight.
Salacious detail was the rage,
With tidbits gathered by the page;
There never seemed to be enough,
To prove the prosecutor tough.
The media was offered leaks,
Crescendos found their highest peaks;
The dirt was told repeatedly,
While Starr was seen so full of glee.
When seen as having overreached,
>From every platform morals preached;
When found themselves with feet of clay,
This truth did not their purpose sway.
New revelations were unfair,
This info was tabu to bare;
They railed that Bill should not attack,
For by their rules he can't fight back.
Let him who's ever sinned throw stones,
But after he himself atones;
Sex scandals fill our Testament,
To death was David's rival sent.
But Bill now bears the brunt of blame,
Though sinners all, we still defame;
We listen to their moral gripes,
Sounds more like jealous guttersnipes.
Like eunuches who would want, but can't
Sins unfulfilled are prone to rant;
His foes so eager for this chase,
Would love election to erase.
Such scandals known in every land,
With sex and power hand in hand;
Our frenzy they can't understand,
Such scrutiny they don't expand.
In honor men deny affairs;
All peccadillos no one bares;
It's time we threw the buzzard out,
Partiality in gravest doubt.
