OUR PERCEPTIONS

We see the world from where we are,
Our cares come from what's in our mind;
We hardly notice what's afar,
So to those problems too oft blind.

Perspective oft can not be found,
Near sighted are too many men;
So global plans oft run aground,
They seem almost beyond our ken.

We think as neighbors, cities, state,
And then to nation we go last;
While others needs we will debate,
Solutions do not come too fast.
