CYNICISM

With cynicism a disease,
That undermines all happiness,
No one can ever be at ease,
Suspicion opens worlds of stress.

We never know whom we can trust,
Our family safety is at risk;
Afraid of what we have discussed,
Afraid to put our thoughts on disc.

Recorded conversations used,
And hidden bugs can spill the beans;
Now privacy by all abused,
Technology provides the means.

So pillars of society,
Are shown to have their feet of clay;
We lose faith in humanity,
The stigma never goes away.

The perfect man does not exist,
Each closet has its skeleton;
With all of us upon some list,
Such information we should shun.

The hypocrites who praise the Lord,
But secretly will hide their sin,
Have always others sins deplored,
Exposure may yet bring chagrin.

All indiscretions should be banned,
>From being used in politics;
All watch for campaigns underhand,
And vote against all dirty tricks.
