GRANDCHILDREN

Grandchildren are a source of pride,
Although they are not raised by us;
But still the glow we can not hide,
They are an extra special plus.

The rigors of parental care,
In grandchildren we do escape;
In their success we claim our share,
As over flaws we hang a drape.

Grandparent's doting we deplore,
So silly do our parents act;
But there's a lesson still in store,
The day we face the self same fact.
